Alfa Romeo Sedan Reviews

The Alfa Romeo currently has one sedan awaiting production, the Alfa Romeo Giulia. This sedan was preceded by the Alfa Romeo 159. The Italian automaker produced the 159 executive sedan between the years 2005-2011, but interested parties can still buy the executive sedan new from stock, so it's certainly worth taking a look at. The Alfa Romeo 159 was first seen in 2005 at the Geneva Motor Show, where it was shown in production-ready form. Slated to replace the popular Alfa Romeo 156, which Alfa Romeo is still known for today due to its status as the first passenger vehicle to use a common rail diesel engine, the 159 used the Fiat/GM (also seen on the Alfa Romeo Brera and Alfa Romeo Spider vehicles and its infamous Visconti and Kamal concept cars. The 159 nearly secured the European Car of the Year award in 2006, but it eventually landed in third place.

The Alfa Romeo 159 is available in several trims, depending on your location on the map, and comes with four distinct trim levels: Progression, Distinctive, Exclusive and Turismo Internazionale (TI). The UK sees slightly different trims, and Lusso replaces the Progression and Distinctive options. An optional Blue&Me infotainment system takes entertainment to the next level. The car is also equipped with a chassis that boasts excellent torsional rigidity. The 159 is available in both front- and all-wheel-drive options. A sports wagon variant of this vehicle was also introduced at the Geneva Auto Show in 2006; it includes many similar options. Giorgetto Giugiaro designed the 159 in tandem with the Alfa Centro Stile. It features a high waitsline and familiar Alfa Romeo interior styling treatments such as buried dash instruments that are slant towards the driver (which were also seen in the Alfa Romeo 156) The vehicle's nose features circular headlight clusters and an Alfa Romeo staple: a customary V-shaped bonnet and grille.

The Alfa Romeo Giulia sedan and station wagon is expected to be available to the public by 2014 and is a part of the 105 series from the brand. The Alfa Romeo Giulia has a storied history. The original Giulia was one of the first automobiles to hold a very powerful engine within a lightweight frame, and the Alfa Romeo brand first produced this technology. Almost all of the different Giiulia models were equipped with a manual 5-speed transmission and were admired for their exceptional performance compared to other sedans of the 1960s and 1970s. The popular Giulia Super had a top speed of 106 mph and went from zero to sixty in about 12 seconds. The styling was predictable and straight-forward, but extremely detailed. The second series of the original Giulia was replaced by the coupe-style Alfa Romeo Giulietta, which was most recently produced in 2011.

The 2014 Giulia will be available in both wagon and sedan styles and is slated to be the first mass produced Alfa Romeo vehicle (the limited edition 8C Competizione was also sold in America in small numbers) to be sold in the America since Alfa Romeo extracted itself from the market in 1995.The Alfa Romeo sedan competes against other Italian manufacturers such as Fiat (internal competition), Lancia, Ferrari, and Maserati, as well as other luxury car brands such as BMW. Pricing for the Alfa Romeo 159 starts at 24,360 Euros for the petrol version and 27,000 Euros for the diesel model.
