The standard Subaru Impreza has been totally restructured for the 2012 year. Some of its finer points now include more aesthetically pleasing styling, a more fuel-efficient (yet lighter) engine, and a roomier and modernized cabin. The Impreza WRX variant, however, remains largely the same as last year's 2011. There haven't been very many changes to the vehicle at all, but that's probably because of the favorable reviews the Impreza WRX has received. With its standard AWD, sporty nature, and fun drivability, the WRX is a true sports car that helps its driver fully experience everything life has to offer. It does well both on-road and off, and provides a comfortable drive in either situation. Overall, this year's WRX is a great choice for drivers who desire a low price point, impressive safety features, and a comfortable ride- all with a bit of a sporty edge as compared to the traditional Impreza. And while this vehicle certainly doesn't provide you with the best features available, it does have an important place in the market. It gives Subaru drivers a lot of what they're always looking for: safety, reliability, and comfort. That's another reason the vehicle hasn't changed much since last year. Subaru finds packages that work, and then the company sticks with them. The WRX remains the quickest car in its class. With a zero to sixty time of less than six seconds, it's a great option if you're looking for a little more performance without a huge increase in price.

The WRX variant of the Impreza debuted in Japan in 1992. Not too long after, the WRX made its way to Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Finally, in 2001, it found its way to the United States as a 2002 Impreza WRX model. The WRX has wider wheels, bigger brakes, lower profile tires, and a firmer suspension compared to its base mother Impreza model. The WRX is available in a total of nine different trims, ranging from the mid-to-upper 20 thousands in terms of dollars. The 2012 Impreza WRX comes as a four-door sedan or a 5-door wagon. The Limited edition of the WRX is near the higher-end of the tier in terms of trims, with the WRX STI Limited having the most power and features. The 2012 WRX Limited starts at just $25,095.
