More Used Suzuki Sedan Reviews / All Suzuki Cars

The Suzuki Sedan is part of a series of three SX4s compact cars designed in Italy and produced by Suzuki. The Suzuki SX4 is marketed throughout North America while across Europe it is marketed by Italian car giant Fiat under the title of the Sedici.

The joint Japanese/ Italian venture was originally earmarked for production in Europe only when it was introduced in 2006 at the Geneva Motor Show. However such was the interest in this attractively designed compact that Suzuki took it worldwide.

The Suzuki SX4 Sedan is the bread and butter member of the SX4 trio which also includes an all wheel drive (AWD) Crossover as well as a SportBack version. Reviews give the Suzuki SX4 Sedan top marks for its excellent finish, simple but pleasant appearance and excellent driving capabilities at a highly competitive price.

For a compact the front-wheel drive Suzuki SX4 Sedan packs a lot of power, with a 2.0-liter all-aluminum four-cylinder engine providing 150 horsepower generating 140 foot-pounds of torque backed up by six-speed manual transmission.

While the Suzuki SX4 Sedan was styled by Italians who are renowned for their design flair, there is not a lot of it evident in this case, which is practicality itself, at least in the Sedan version. It has to be said in the SX4's favor that the vehicle handles very well due to its wide track chassis and that head and leg room for the driver and front seat passenger is generous. However the back seat passengers have a lot less room to play with and adults would find it difficult sitting in the back for long journeys. By the same token, storage space in the Suzuki SX4 Sedan is not the most generous, making it more suitable as a town car than that for long journeys. Driver reviews rave about the SX Sedans' high seating position, providing tremendous vision for a compact car.

Although space is fairly cramped, back seat access cannot be faulted as the wheel wells are not intrusive as the Suzuki SX4 Sedan has been designed so that rear wheels are pushed to the back of the vehicle. The rear baggage offers 15.5 cubic feet of space, pretty similar to most of its rivals.

Fuel economy is pretty fair, considering the fact that the SX4 Sedan has a two liter engine, with 25 miles per gallon consumption in the city and a healthy 32 miles per gallon on the open highway, according to objective reviews.

The Suzuki SX4 sedan has no shortage of rivals in its category, with the principal ones being the Nissan Versa Sedan , the Hyundai Elantra, the Ford Focus, the Hyundai Accent GLS 4-Door and the Chevrolet Sonic 1LS Sedan, although not necessarily in that order.
