The Toyota Tundra full size truck comes with a wide range of interior trim options that can range from the basic to the luxurious, depending on the buyer's specifications. The audio system is basic but adequate, although it does come ready to take in a satellite radio. For those who are prepared to invest in a fuller sound system than the standard, there is the option of fitting a Bluetooth-compatible Premium JBL six-CD system with integrated satellite radio system. Air conditioning comes as standard in each and every configuration of the Tundra. Each configuration comes with 22-inch alloy wheels with all terrain tires.

Driver and passengers seats are very generously proportioned, firm but no overly so and capable of providing a comfortable ride over long hours and rough terrain, with ample leg and head room. There is a choice of heavy duty but pliable fabric coverings as well as hard wearing but pliant leather. The passenger seat can slide backward to fit in some higher value equipment or goods that might fall off if left unattended in the flat bed.

The Tundra can be ordered with GPS navigation, a rearview camera, an audible warning sonar as well as a rear-seat entertainment system with a 9-inch LCD screen.

Safety features on all versions include front airbag side air curtain airbags for both the front and rear seats. . All models come with anti-lock brakes (ABS), which are designed to enhance steering control during an emergency stop situation.

Fuel consumption for the 2011 Toyota Tacoma Two Wheel Drive with an six cylinder 4.0 liter engine and automatic five speed gearbox comes in at a combined figure of 18 miles per gallon, with 16 miles per gallon in the city and 20 miles per gallon on the highway, while the eight cylinder 4.6 liter engine and automatic five speed gearbox provides 16.5 miles per gallon, with 14 miles per gallon in the city and 19 miles per gallon on the open road being reported in most reviews, and the eight cylinder 5.7 liter engine providing much the same figures according to most unofficial reviews.

The Tundra's impetus and wide range of configurations makes it a key figure in the large sized flat bed pickup truck niche, although it does have to face some fairly strong opposition from the Chevy Silverado Work Truck and the Ford F-150 as well as models from Nissan, GMC and Ram.
