More Used Volkswagen Sedan Reviews / All Volkswagen Cars

The Volkswagen CC Sedan comes in six different trim models. They include the 2.0T Sport, 2.0T R-Line, 2.0T Lux, 2.0T Lux Plus, 2.0T Lux Limited, and the VR6 4Motion Executive. As you move along the lineup, you'll receive more luxury ameninities. All of the CC's feature the turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, except the VR6 trim which shows off added power with its 3.6-liter v6.

When it comes to standard review features, you'll experience more and more as you move up in the trim models. The Sport, or base version of the CC, comes with automated headlights, heated mirrors, alloy 17-inch wheels, auto climate control, premium upholstery, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, automatic wipers, Bluetooth, touch-screen sound system interface, audio jacks, High Definition satellite radio, and finally an interface where you can dock your iPod. Now you can see why the interior has been defined as pure luxury in the mid-size sedan category. The standard review features outweigh many of those found in other competing models by far.

If you elect to go for the R-Line trim you'll find fog lamps, dark taillights, 18-inch wheels, and a unique exterior with new side designs and a special front bumper. The Lux trims are where things start becoming serious. The 2.0T Lux adds onto the previous features with a slightly different wheel design, dual-zone auto climate control, heated washer nozzles for cold weather, an in-dash navigation system, and a new aluminum brushed trim on the inside. The Lux Plus trim throws in a rear-view camera, sunroof, and an upgrade over the previous in-dash nav system by adding HD radio, music storage, and a wood trim on the interior. The Lux Limited trim only changes slightly by again redesigning the wheels, and including xenon headlights in the front.

The Volkswagen CC Sedan VR6 4Motion Executive trim review is the ultimate package. It takes the previous 4-cylinder engine, and upgrades it to an even more powerful 3.6-liter V6. On top of the engine change, and additional features included in previous trims, you'll also receive parking sensors, leather interior, power rear sunshade technology, headlamp washers, all-wheel drive for bad weather situations, and a 10-speaker upgraded Dynaudio sound system.

When it comes to the power-train review of the Volkswagen CC Sedan you'll find a 6-speed manual become standard on both the Sport, and R-Line trims. You also have the option of upgrading to the dual-clutch automatic transmission, or DSG, if preferred. This transmission is standard on all the Lux trims. As far as the fuel economy review goes you'll get around 22 mpg through the city, and 31 on the highway. The 6-speed manual drops the city mpg down only to 21, so there isn't much of a difference overall. When you review the VR6 4Motion Executive trim you'll find the 3.6-liter puts out 280 hp, and comes with a six-speed automatic. It can go from 0-60 mph in 6.3 seconds according to our review. The fuel economy is lower at 17 mpg in the city, and 25 on the highway. This is the trade-off for any larger cylinder engine.

As for safety features, the 2012 Volkswagen CC Sedan ranks very highly according to the IIHS. A rating of Good was given to the CC thanks to the traction control, anti-lock disc brakes with assist, hill-holding capability, and airbags on the front and side.
