Used 2012 Volkswagen Eos Convertible Coupe Trims & Features

The 2012 Volkswagen Eos comes in just two trim levels- the standard Komfort model or the more up market Lux version.

Standard equipment for the Komfort kicks off with twelve way power adaptable heated sport seats, trip computer, automatic climate control, CD changer with MP3 capability, a Sirius Satellite Radio, and seventeen inch alloy wheels with 235/45R all season tires. There are a number of options available for the Kompakt including Bi-Xenon headlamps, DVD navigation and park distance control among others.

Moving up to the Lux standard will mean leather upholstery and a walnut trim, multi-function steering wheel among other refinements. The Lux, can also come fitted with a 600 watt Dynaudio premium sound system, with a potentially ear drum splitting ten speaker system.

Someone taking a close look at the Volkswagen Eos' interior and especially the dashboard will soon spot the similarities with those of the Jetta and Golf GTI. And that would be far from a coincidence as much of the design inspiration was taken from there, especially with the Lux, where the wooden and brushed aluminum trim is a direct duplicate of what a Jetta looks like inside. The Eos dashboard is dominated by two round gauges, one containing the speedometer and the other the tachometer that are located in two nice big round gauges in a compact instrument pod, off center of a LCD display containing in-journey information as well as a couple of smaller gauges providing information on fuel and coolant levels.

Safety equipment for all Eos models takes in dual airbags for the front, four head restraints side-curtain airbags, front seatbelt pre tensioners, anti lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control (ESP) and a special protection system feature designed to spring into action when specially fitted sensors detect that the vehicle is veering out of control. In such an instance a roll bar will spring up within seconds and protect the driver and passengers in the event of a roll over. In addition the Eos comes with the park distance control sensor as an optional feature. This feature won't save any lives but possibly a lot of money by warning the driver if there is any kind of object that could prevent the roof or trunk from opening when they begin to operate the folding roof mechanism.

Fuel consumption for the Volkswagen Eos five cylinder 2.5 liter automatic, according to the US EPA averages, averages out at 25 miles per gallon, with 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the open road.
