About this Class
Young people around the world interact with technology on a daily basis as consumers, creative computing is an opportunity for students to learn computer science skills that will allow them to change their habits from technology consumers to producers. The Creative Computing curriculum emphasizes knowledge, practices and fundamental literacies needed to create dynamic and interactive media. Creative Computing will introduce students to careers in the computer science field and help students understand the importance of computer scientist and programmers. Over the semester we will guide students through the development of personal connections to computing, drawing upon each student's creativity, imagination, and interests. Students will learn block-based coding through the Scratch platform and culminate with an individual project created by the student to demonstrate their learning.
