It's so weird. Scratch is an educational coding site? Why would they block it? If it was because of the forums couldn't they just block scratch.mit.edu/discuss/ ?

i don't think so. i had scratch blocked and it probably was for some school reasons, loke it's distracting, etc.

I don't know how well this works but if you put a period after scratch.mit.edu https://scratch.mit.edu. I think it unblocks the website.

This is not the real scratch. This is an alternate site that should not be used, as it could steal your info. Well, I am not 100% sure, but just in case, don't use it.

I know I'm not staff, but Safair can't open it as it comes up with ‘Safari could not establish a secure connection to the server’ so I'd agree that you shouldn't use it.

I think I saw something earlier in the thread that “the moderator position keeps things on topic, has votes on accepting new staff, bump things and accept shops (78ch3),” so I would assume so, but correct me if I'm wrong.
