Rename things in the backpack
To rename an object in the backpack, you have to
1. Export the object from the backpack
2. Rename the exported object
3. Re-import the renamed exported object into the backpack
4. Delete the original object in the backpack
Please let us directly rename objects in the backpack. You can put the rename button next to the delete button when right clicked.
To rename an object in the backpack with this change, you have to
1. Rename the object
It reduces 4 TIMES the effort to rename objects in the backpack with this change!
As a result, we can conclude that this update is going to be extremely helpful.
To make matters worse, you can't name code in a backpack, it always goes by the name script.
There is a workaround by storing code in sprites, but to export code, you have to
1. Export the sprite from the backpack
2. Move the code to the destination sprite
3. Delete the backpacked sprite
To export code without storing it in sprites, you have to
1. Export the code
It takes 3 TIMES the effort to export code stored in sprites compared to the effort to export code directly from the backpack!
As a result, we can conclude that this is an inefficient workaround.
Wait did I just indirectly made generic platformers more powerful since generic platformers love to reuse assets

Support, this would be very helpful to me, despite the problem of generic platformers. Some people have distinct art.

Rename things in the backpack
Support! I have a lot of things in my backpack and I don't want to see every code that I need so for that reason, I support!

Rename things in the backpack
Support, it's annoying to try to find a backpacked script because a script doesn't show in the backpack when it's too big. Renaming would help with this.

Rename things in the backpack
Support, this would help organize the backpack and me not thinking ‘Well, what’s that? l'll put it in a project and see.' Or ‘I dno’t even know what this is, i'll just delete it.' 10 minutes later: ‘Oh yeah, i needed that for this project’

Rename things in the backpack
Support. I have, like, 18 scripts in my backpack, and I always end up pulling out two scripts that aren't the ones I am looking for. If this feature existed, I could organize and rename my scripts so I know which is which.
To rename an object in the backpack, you have to
1-4. boring, time-wasting steps!

Really cool how you calculated that. Even though I think that was made to recieve more supports
Anyways, this might be helpful if you love to use the backpack often, but wouldn't it encourage Scratchers to take particles of code from different projects and put them in their own without learning? Scratch is made for little kids to learn to code. If not abused, this will be very helpful.

Rename things in the backpack
wasdcoceoe: I'm not thinking of using other people's code. I want to import my own code into new projects. For instance, I have blocks of code that:
square xcorc ycorc sidelength where xcorc and ycorc are the coordinates of the center of the square
square xcorll ycorll sidelength where xcorll and ycorll are the coordinates of the lower-left vertex of the square
similarly, a block for a circle with given center and radius
and a block for a circle with a point on the circle and a given radius, and more
The backpage in its present state is rather embarrasing for a program like Scratch.
Have 40 files named SCRIPT CODE does not help me find the code I'm looking for. Major shortcoming.

Absolute 100% support! This doesn't hurt anything (I think) and would really help organization. And as for naming code, I don't know why it isn't implemented already. The API has the capability (a browser extension does it) but the editor doesn't let you change it.
