Hey y’all Happy Holidays!! I’m not going to list off everything I got but in terms of switch games I got Fire Emblem Engage, The Marvel vs Capcom fighting collection & Sonadow Generations (Day one edition)

Someone must mod a Frutiger Aero Switch homebrew menu. PLEASEEE

Edit: SOMEONE DID IT!! Except I think the Wiimotes floating around behind detract from this as an actual UI idea.

Anyways here’s my thoughts on some of the switch games I’ve started recently;
•Fire Emblem Engage- this game is so addictive & fun!! It’s also nice to see fire emblem characters from the past games return. I also think the new characters have charming designs (this might be unpopular but I love male Alear’s design) my only complaints are A. The story is so boring I’ve been skipping the cutscenes cuz I cannot for the life of me be interested in it (for reference the only other FE game I’ve played is the blazing blade & I actually enjoyed that game’s story) and B. Despite my previous praise for the character designs some are just..not very fire emblem feeling to me.. like for example, Hortensia looks more like she belongs in a mobile gacha game than fire emblem (at least imo, I don’t even dislike her design that much she just sticks out so much & she’s certainly not the only one)
•Sonadow Gens- I’ve only played the Shadow part so far (he’s my fav so duh) but I love this game so much?? Like there are some gameplay elements that kinda have Bayonetta vibes to me (Barb go one day without mentioning Bayonetta challenge) & the story is good. Ian Flynn is such a good writer and I love how they’re able to take old stages from previous games but still change them up to make them feel fresh
•Marvel vs Capcom Collection- it is AMAZING to have ALL of Capcom’s 90’s marvel fighting games in one collection! I’ve mainly been playing MvC2 (obviously, that game is a masterpiece) but the fact that it was compiled with six other games is just *chefs kiss* (also thank God they made the cheat code characters in MvC1 less annoying to pull off, it is too much hastle just to play as Roll from megaman & Lilith from darkstalkers lol)

I’d say the shadow portion alone makes the game worth it, it’s basically a whole new game on top of Sonic generations (both usually take from like 4-6 hours to complete) + Ian Flynn’s writing of Shadow here is so good. The game is also just so good feeling to play (Also there’s even more content with extra DLC for Shadow based on the Sonic Movie as well as a Terios (original version of Shadow) skin for Shadow & a SA1 skin for Sonic)

it's based on the Wii U UI, which is why there's Wiimotes
