Why was the remix tree removed?
My topic explains why it was removedYeah, but why is the suggestion completely rejected? (I'm just confused because there wasn't a reason provided)
Would the rejection include just making a remixtree (or a similar page) but removing the info that the API had and stuff like that?
this is a real shame because i think the remixtree is the most ‘scratch’ feature possible. it is the visual representation of the scratch philosophy and i really hope they consider reimplementing the remix tree in a ‘scratch 4.0’.Also, I feel like they could have fixed these specific problems and removed it temporarily without rejecting it.

Why was the remix tree removed?
its a shame since they removed the remix tree entirely, they could've kept the data and made it so the remix tree page doesn't pop up, due to them removing it websites like lunarsphere no longer work and due to that no one can really know how long a remix chain is. also scratch has been very silent about them removing remix trees probably because only like a slim amount of users know about remix trees so they just removed them, but why did they wait until now to remove them completely? they removed the remix tree button in scratch 3.0 but you could still access them through typing (you cant say that now i think) at the end of any project link, also they have made it impossible to say remix tree links at all, it says that its not appropriate for some reason.

Why was the remix tree removed?
Sorry, quotes in this post have been tweaked (though they still hold the original meaning) just because filterbot was flagging this and I couldn't figure out why.
Yes, now when you add remixtree it just goes to the remixes page.
I just noticed this while trying to look through my remixes. Personally the remix tree was helpful because the remixes page didn't update as fast as the remixes did. (Remixtree updated almost instantly while remixes page can take up to a couple days.) This is inconvenient to anyone trying to view a lot of remixes.
I also agree with this argument a lot:

The remix tree showed remixes made by (gone) accounts so some previews were still available. While I completely support getting rid of this ^^ especially because I experienced this remixing myself, I hope taking down the remix tree is only temporary to fix that bug rather than a feature that is permanently gone, it would be a shame to see it go <3

I agree, in my opinion they should try to find a work around instead of deleting such a cool feature.
Sure it might be hard but they’ve already deleted something that probably took a bunch of work

Why was the remix tree removed?
I was under the impression that remixes made by deleted accounts or since deleted/unshared projects only showed that there was a project there, with no other data. That was nice because it let you see remix chains that had a break in the middle.
I haven't found a solution for it, but it's pretty annoying.

I feel like they should try to make it like that (instead of showing the title they could show idk (banned project) or (deleted project)

As far as I can remember, it just showed, “project unavailable” but people are saying otherwise so either it got changed or I'm misremembering.I was under the impression that remixes made by deleted accounts or since deleted/unshared projects only showed that there was a project there, with no other data. Tbh if they had just done that, then it would prob be way more easier instead they deleted a big set of code which probably took them ages to make

Why was the remix tree removed?
( #29 )They did do that. If you looked at any popular project's remixtree, you'd see plenty of “no longer available” project with a greyed scratch cat picture. I don't remember if that was just for unshared projects, NFE projects, banned users, or all those, but it did exist.

…. THEN WHY DID THEY DELETE THE ENTIRE FEATURE AND REPLACE IT WITH A BLAND REMIX PAGE?????? (in my personal opinion the remix tree was way more lively then..the remix page.. and it was way more helpful {because you could check remixes of remixes aswell without having to go to that specific remix})

Why was the remix tree removed?
man, they better fix this. it's a huuuuge inconvenience to remix culture as a whole, and if they remove it, it is disrespect towards the community.

Why was the remix tree removed?
i wonder if there was a delay between when a project was deleted and it stopped appearing in the remix tree. that could be why they removed it.
i don't feel disrespected by its removal, but it was a cool feature
