SHL Getting Mad Love (Especially from Canada)

League members aren’t the only ones enjoying the Seamheads Historical League.

When I first introduced myself to the General Managers of the Seamheads Historical League, I asked them if they would consider blogging about our league, and most happily obliged.  Dustin Mattison , Sam Mellinger , and Jonah Keri implored their readers to help them build their respective teams’ rosters.  Joe Posnanski , Derrick Goold , and Neate Sager announced their selections to their readers (Goold even went so far as to unveil a custom-made team logo designed by Kurt Hunzeker), and Geoff Young has his readers following the virtual San Diego Padres and Portland Beavers.

Sager has kept his readers updated on the early success of his All-Time Blue Jays squad , and Curt Schilling recently told his readers at 38 Pitches, “The league is being managed by some diehards and there are some cool blog reports on the league action so far.” ( Thanks, Curt, we love you too ).

Recently, though, the league has gotten attention from writers who aren’t even participating in the league.  Bob Elliott of the Toronto Sun recently posted a piece about Sager and the Blue Jays at his Canadian Baseball Network blog .  What can I say, Canada loves us.

I’ve also received e-mails from league members Mike Vaccaro , Chad Finn , Jonathan Mayo , Keri, and Goold about plans to blog about the SHL in the future, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, I’ve created a page that lists all the posts made about the league so far.

Enjoy!
