Six Players Reach Triple Milestones

October 6, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

Only six players reached the triple milestones of a .300 batting average, 30 home runs and 100 RBIs in 2009, the lowest figure since the strike year of 1994 when only three made it. Joe Mauer (.364-28-96) could raise the total to 7 if he gets 2 homers and 4 RBIs in the playoff game Today.

There were 30 players who hit 30 or more home runs in 2009 but only six of them hit over .300.

Here are the six:

Albert Pujols: .327-47-133
Miguel Cabrera: .323-33-101
Ryan Braun: .320-32-114
Derrek Lee: .306-35-111
Kendry Morales: .306-34-108
Adam Lind: .305-35-114

Prince Fielder just missed with .299-46-141.

Adam Wainwright (2.49-19-217) failed to reach pitchers triple milestones when the Cardinals were unable to hold a 6-0 lead in his last start when he was going for his 20th win. No pitchers had 20 wins this year.

A more comprehensive analysis will follow in a couple of weeks.
