Adirondack continues dominance of Geneva

An efficient Adirondack offense took advantage of six Geneva errors, and three pitchers combined for a shutout as the Trail Blazers downed the Red Wings 10-0 in New York Collegiate Baseball League action, Friday night.
Adirondack pushed runs across the plate in each its last four at bats to put the contest out of reach.
James Anderson (Harding) and Bobby McLaughlin (Alderson-Broaddus) combined for six of Adirondack’s ten hits on the night.
Anderson singled to lead the second. The native of Barrie, ONT. stole second and moved to third on a ground ball before McLaughlin’s two-out base hit gave the Trail Blazers the only run needed for victory.
McLaughlin led the fifth with a single. Johan Knee (Fisher) moved the runner with a sacrifice. After a passed ball, McLaughlin came home on a Kenny May (Lincoln) base hit, and Adirondack led 2-0.
Anderson and McLaughlin combined as Adirondack doubled its lead in the sixth. Eric Baker (Rogers St.) started the frame with a single. Anderson reached on an error which allowed Baker to score. Two outs later, McLaughlin doubled home Anderson for the 4-0 advantage.
Anderson’s RBI double in the seventh plated May as the Trail Blazers extended the lead to seven. Adirondack added three more in the eighth for the final margin of victory.
Charles Parsons (Mohawk Valley CC) struck out six, walked one and scattered six hits over seven shutout innings for his second win of the season. The right-hander has made five appearances (three starts) and is 2-1 on the campaign.
Corbin Stykemain (Niagara) worked a perfect eighth with two strike outs.
Geoff Soja (Niagara) tossed a scoreless ninth.
With the win Adirondack (10-4) keeps pace with the Syracuse Jr. Chiefs (8-2) in the NYCBL’s Eastern Division . The triumph was Adirondack’s third over Geneva this season. The Trail Blazers travel to Falcon Park for an afternoon double dip with the Syracuse Salt Cats (3-11). Sean Badger (Mohawk Valley CC) and John Clark (Georgia Coll & St. U.) will get the starts for the Trail Blazers. Corey Mingin (Oklahoma Panhandle St.) and Joe Riley (St. Lawrence) go for the Cats.
Geneva (5-7) will travel to Utica for a 7 p.m. start with the Brewers (8-6).
