When It Was A Game

I suppose I sound like an old man in saying that I miss the game I grew up with as a boy. Where I once loved the game of baseball unconditionally, I have now developed a love/hate relationship with it.
I realize I haven’t been as active on this blog as I’d first intended, but I plan to remedy that this season. Be forewarned that all I have to say won’t always be complimentary toward the game. I will be the devil’s advocate in many instances because when I boil it down, the game is not what it used to be.
As just one minor example I point to the ubiquity of Major League Baseball and its constant barrage of money making schemes. Granted, it is a necessary evil in this age of revenue at all costs. I guess I resent that it has evolved -or devolved- into the business that it is. Don’t want to proceed on too much more of a rant now. Just warming my writing chops up presently. More to come from a fan of the Golden Age, When it Was A Game.

I think it was always a business first, just more exposed as such now.
