Sevvie and Denise presenting at TESOL Araboa Conference in 2009

Sevhan  and Denise presenting at TESOL Arabia Conference in 2009

We, Sevhan Acar Hammudeh and Denise Mcqueen Ozdeniz, are EFL teachers at a college of further education in the U.A.E. We are embarking on the exciting educational innovation of teaching and learning through iPads. In the iPad initiative we are involved in, we are encouraged to use iPads only in the classroom; hence students have been issued e-Textbooks.  The aim of this blog is to help us reflect on and share our experiences of courses, curriculum, materials, training and iPadagogy as they take shape. This blog is kept by practitioners by practitioners and aims to provide practical information and  usable lesson plans and activities. Whilst we are  using iPadagogy to teach English as a foreign language, we  hope that our experience will be of use to teachers in many fields of education; thus furthering the promotion of effective teaching and the enhancement of  student learning. We would also like to invite you to contribute to our blog by sharing your teaching and learning experiences through technology. An Exciting Educational Challenge From September 2012, we, will deliver all of our lessons through iPads. Our vision is to empower students with 21st century skills, whilst developing their level of English. Our college, along with many others in the U.A.E, is working towards a dynamic new interface between teachers, learners, ESL material and task types. We will push ourselves beyond the boundaries of our educational experience, so far. This will be a steep learning curve both pedagogically and technologically. This blog will track that curve.
