After dropping three of their last four games, the Montreal Canadiens currently find themselves on the outside of the playoff picture looking in.
And no one appears to be more angry about it than Habs winger Andrew Shaw .
"We need to be a team playing hard," Shaw shared with Sportsnet's Eric Engels following a 2-1 loss to the Islanders on Thursday night. "Everyone. All lines, all D, goalie; everyone has to be playing their best every night. Lines are taking nights off, players are taking nights off. They don't have that fight."
While Shaw is not exactly the biggest name on the roster, he's one of just a few Canadiens with championship experience. The pesky winger won two Stanley Cups with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013 and 2015.
With 81 points on the season, Montreal sits tied with the Columbus Blue Jackets , who currently occupy the second wild card spot in the Eastern conference with a game in hand on the Habs.
The Blue Jackets have a chance to take a two-point lead on the Canadiens Friday night against the Carolina Hurricanes , who currently hold the first wild card spot in the East with 83 points.
