With the Pittsburgh Steelers in the market for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft , Steelers Now will be taking stock of the draft class every week of the 2025 college football season. Week six saw some prospects continue to perform while others might have pushed their stock out of 2026.
STOCK UP: Carson Beck , Miami
While Beck may not be a unanimous first-round prospect yet, he is showing what he can do each and every week since transferring from UGA. After a "meh" week against Florida, Miami's offense came out of the bye week firing on all cylinders. Of all places, they went into the suddenly competitive Florida State's home and had their way for most of the game.
Beck led the way in one of college football's toughest environments. He threw a season high four touchdowns en route to a victory over the Seminoles. Not only has Beck now been a part of three victories over ranked opponents, has it doing it coming off a major arm injury last year.
Not only is his performance turning heads in 2025, his two years of experience at Georgia only helps his stock. He played against the SEC's best teams routinely. Now, with his team's "toughest" stretch possibly now in the rearview mirror, his next big test could come in postseason play.

STOCK DOWN: Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh
Holstein arrived in 2025 with an opportunity to not only lead Pitt to higher levels but also establish a name for himself. Unfortunately, it hasn't panned out that way.
After an underwhelming start to the season, Holstein crumbled to Pitt's hated rival in the Backyard Brawl. The Panthers' head coach decided to move on this week.
While Holstein has a chance to transfer elsewhere, 2026's draft stock likely is off the table. There's little chance he will declare, and he is likely to aim for finding an investor for his 2027 stock.

STOCK UP: Cade Klubnik , Clemson
FINALLY. Klubnik and the Tigers put together a complete game. It might've been against a sub-par UNC team, but at this point, they will take it.
Klubnik's 2025 season has been miserable to this point. However, he finally showed flashes of why he was considered a preseason first-round prospect. He led Clemson to a 38-10 victory where he threw twice as many touchdowns (four) than he did incompletions (two).
It might've been just a matter of time before he got out of this slump. However, Klubnik will need to put together a strong final half of the season to put himself back in the first-round conversation.

STOCK UP: Ty Simpson , Alabama
After it looked like the sky was falling in week one, Alabama has bounced back in a major stride. At the center of it? Their quarterback: Ty Simpson.
Simpson has made a lot of eye-popping throws as he has led the Crimson Tide each week. Not only that, he has taken care of the football.
Among his performances, he led Alabama to Sanford Stadium and defeated Georgia. That's a stadium that's hard to win in. He followed it up by dropping 30 on a 16th ranked Vanderbilt team.
It's long overdue to put Simpson in the first-round conversation. Maybe even for the Steelers radar.

STOCK DOWN: Drew Allar , Penn State
A week after willing his team back into the game and then throwing a game-ending interception in overtime, Allar couldn't bounce back. In fact, things might've gotten worse.
Penn State handed UCLA its only win of the season. If not for special teams and defensive plays, the margin would've been much, much wider.
As it stands, Allar hasn't lived up to his preseason hype. That could be said about this QB class in general. The fifth-year senior likely will have to declare for the 2026 draft. There isn't much time left to help his outlook. His team will have to effectively win out and sneak into the postseason.
The Steelers did have scouts on hand for the Penn State-UCLA matchup. Did this performance dissuade the Steelers?

STOCK DOWN: Arch Manning , Texas
Grandpa Archie said his grandson would play at least two more years of college football before the 2025 season began. While it was more of him looking out for his grandson's best interests, it became a foreshadowing.
Manning has been one of the biggest disappointments of the season—and of this 2026 class. The good news is he is a junior, and a senior season will be a more than reasonable option. After his abysmal performance in Florida, fate might've steered him in that direction.
Texas is likely in the same spot as Penn State. They will need to win out in order to make the college football playoffs—and potentially recover their signal caller's future stock. For now, it looks like Manning probably won't be in the 2026 NFL Draft pool for the Steelers.
