John Franklin-Myers has been active on social media this offseason, and he seems to be sending a clear message to the Denver Broncos . He wants a big extension, and he wants it sooner rather than later .
JFM's latest tweets continue to echo that sentiment.
After the defensive lineman tweeted on Monday that all of his defensive teammates can " eat " (get paid), a fan lamented in the replies that the Broncos got JFM cheap last year and haven't rewarded him with an extension. "If you don't someone else will after this season…bet!" the fan wrote .
JFM then responded with a message that might alarm fans in Denver:
Franklin-Myers seemed to suggest that the Broncos should learn from the mistakes of the Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets and reward him with a new deal. If they don't, he'll get paid elsewhere.
Franklin-Myers, 28, is set to earn about $8 million this season before becoming a free agent in 2026. Denver traded a sixth-round draft pick to the Jets in exchange for JFM in 2024, and they restructured his contract to a two-year, $15 million deal. He now wants an extension, but it's unclear if the Broncos plan to give him one.
The list of Denver players scheduled to become free agents next spring also includes defensive lineman Zach Allen , pass rusher Nik Bonitto and wide receiver Courtland Sutton . The Broncos might not be able to re-sign all of them.
