D.J. Jones would " love " to re-sign with the Denver Broncos , and the team's front office wants to bring him back. Now it's just down to the details.
While speaking at the NFL combine last month, Broncos general manager George Paton was asked if he would meet with Jones' agent in Indianapolis .
"I will, definitely," Paton said on Feb. 25. "We really like D.J. We'd love to have him back, and we'll have those conversations."
Jones just completed the three-year, $30 million contract he signed with Denver in 2022 and he's now set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 12. The 30-year-old defensive lineman has a projected one-year market value of $11.2 million on Spotrac.com .
It remains to be seen if the Broncos would give Jones a raise on his next contract after hitting 30, but if they can find a number that works, Jones could remain with the club in 2025. Over the last three seasons, Jones totaled 122 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, nine pass breakups, five sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 48 starts.
NFL teams can begin negotiating with pending free agents from other clubs on March 10, so the clock is clicking for Denver to get a deal done with the veteran defensive lineman.
