The Denver Broncos need to add a running back this offseason, so it's no surprise that they're doing their due diligence on the best back in this year's class.
The Broncos are one of eight teams who have scheduled a formal interview with Boise State's Ashton Jeanty at the NFL combine, according The Draft Network's Ryan Fowler .
Denver currently holds pick No. 20 in the first round of the draft. Of the seven other teams meeting with Jeanty, four of them -- the New York Giants (No. 3), New Orleans Saints (No. 9), Chicago Bears (No. 10) and Indianapolis Colts (No. 14) -- pick before the Broncos.
Denver is ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 21), Los Angeles Chargers (No. 22), Minnesota Vikings (No. 24) and Baltimore Ravens (No. 27), but it remains to be seen if Jeanty will fall all the way to pick No. 20.
Jeanty finished second in Heisman Trophy voting last fall after rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in 14 games with college football's Broncos. He is widely considered the best running back prospect in this year's class.
The 2025 NFL draft will be held in Wisconsin from April 24-26. The Broncos currently hold seven picks , but the team could acquire more selections through trades this spring.
