The Denver Broncos are signing veteran running back J.K. Dobbins to a one-year contract, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and others. NFLN has reported the contract is worth $5.25 million.
Dobbins (5-10, 215 pounds) gives the Broncos a savvy, capable veteran in the backfield who can fill the pass-blocking role that Javonte Williams held last season. Denver's second-round draft pick, RJ Harvey , still figures to serve a key role in 2025, but Dobbins is talented enough to shake up fantasy football depth charts.
Dobbins proved last season that he can still be productive when healthy. The key is keeping him on the field as the 26-year-old running back missed 43 games in his first four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens . Dobbins missed four games with the Los Angeles Chargers last year, but he rushed 195 times for 905 yards and nine scores in 13 games.
Dobbins also hauled in 32 receptions for 153 yards in L.A. last season, so he figures to play a role in Denver's passing game this season. Last fall, he rushed 25 times for 96 yards and one touchdown in a 23-16 win over the Broncos in Week 6. He will now join a Denver backfield that includes Harvey, Audric Estime , Jaleel McLaughlin , Tyler Badie and Blake Watson .
A former second-round pick out of Ohio State, Dobbins has rushed for 2,252 yards and 21 touchdowns in 37 career games (21 starts). He is entering his sixth season in the NFL.
