" Cardinals are placing QB Kyler Murray on injured reserve due to his foot injury, meaning he now will miss a minimum of four games. Cardinals say this will give Murray the chance to focus on rehabbing his foot injury and that he is committed to getting back as soon as possible," Schefter wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The Cardinals will continue to roll with Jacoby Brissett as the starter, as he recently got them a win against the Dallas Cowboys .
Murray has already missed three games with the foot injury after he suffered it against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5. The earliest that he could return is Week 14 against the Los Angeles Rams . If Brissett has played well in these coming games, there's a good chance that Murray won't get his starting job back, which could then turn into something else down the line.
So far, Brissett has completed 66% of his passes for 860 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. He's also run for 49 yards and a touchdown.

As for Murray, his foot injury has a recovery timeline of four to eight weeks, and he has a chance of re-aggravating the injury. The best thing is for the Cardinals to be cautious with Murray and not rush him back. Especially since he's a quarterback who uses his legs to make plays, he has to be extra careful.
The Cardinals are currently 3-5 and in last place in the NFC West. If they want any chance of competing to get into the playoff race, they're going to have to do a lot of catching up. The Seattle Seahawks and Rams are both 6-2, while the San Francisco 49ers are 6-3.
