Well, the Carolina Panthers responded after all.
After a lackluster showing in Week 1 and a failed comeback in Week 2 , the Panthers opened up their regular-season slate at Bank of America Stadium with authority. From start to finish, the team held down their NFC South rivals en route to their first win of the campaign.

The Panthers, for a refreshing change, took advantage of their opposition's sloppiness. Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was out of sync all afternoon, completing 18 of his 36 throws (50 percent) for 172 yards and two interceptions before being relieved by Kirk Cousins early in the fourth quarter.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was largely contained, rushing for 72 yards on 13 carries. The unit also forced a total of five turnovers and recorded the team's first shutout since Week 11 of the 2020 season.

Quarterback Bryce Young came up with a clean outing. He connected on 16 of his 24 attempts for 121 yards and, unlike last week , zero turnovers.

Down 20-0 at the 1:40 mark of the third quarter, Atlanta decided to go on a fourth-and-8 from Carolina's 31-yard line. That's when cornerback Mike Jackson picked off Penix and returned the takeaway to the Falcons' 30-yard line.
The Panthers, on the other hand, were successful on their fourth-down try on the ensuing possession. Running back Rico Dowdle , with just under 11 minutes remaining in the game, extended the lead to 27 points on a 1-yard rush on fourth-and-goal.
