CLEVELAND — Cavaliers starting center Jarrett Allen suffered an injury to his right hand in Friday night's 142-105 win over the New York Knicks at Rocket Arena .
On Saturday's injury report, the Cavs listed Allen's injury as a right index finger sprain. The team announced in the third quarter Allen wouldn't return to Friday's game. X-rays were negative, coach Kenny Atkinson said during his postgame news conference.
Allen said he suffered the injury while trying to block a shot in the first quarter and didn't know whether he'll miss time as a result of the injury. His hand made contact with the rim. As Allen answered a few questions in the locker room, All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell repeatedly said, "He's fine."

Atkinson expected Allen to undergo an MRI on Saturday.
"X-rays were negative, so that's good," Atkinson said. "I do think he's going to get an MRI tomorrow. He came up to me during the game. He goes, 'It's really bothering me. I'm not going to be able to finish.' But good X-rays were negative."
Allen started the second half, made a layup with 8:29 left in the third quarter and checked out of the game with 7:53 remaining in the third quarter.

Jarrett Allen and Darius Garland are listed as questionable for Sunday's game between the Cleveland Cavs and Memphis Grizzlies
Allen is listed as questionable to play Sunday night when the Cavs host the Memphis Grizzlies (37-19).
Cavs All-Star point guard Darius Garland is also listed as questionable to compete against the Grizzlies, but there's a twist.
Garland's injury designation on the injury report is a left hip contusion, not an injury to his face. Garland's face hit the court hard late in the second quarter against the Knicks. However, he finished the game.
What are Jarrett Allen's stats?
Allen has yet to miss a game this season. He's averaging 13.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, two assists, 0.9 blocked shot and 0.9 steals this season.
Before Allen exited the game against the Knicks, he compiled 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and three rebounds in 20 minutes.
