The Denver Broncos are re-signing defensive lineman D.J. Jones to a three-year deal worth $39 million, according to multiple reports.
Jones earning an average of $13 million per season was first reported by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Sunday night. The Denver Post 's Parker Gabriel later reported it was a three-year deal, and ESPN's Adam Schefter added on Monday morning that it's $39 million contract with $26 million fully guaranteed.
Jones (6-0, 305 pounds) spent the first five years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers after being picked in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL draft out of Ole Miss. He joined the Broncos on a three-year, $30 million deal during free agency in 2022, worth an average of $10 million per season.
Over the last three seasons, Jones has been a reliable defensive tackle for Denver, starting all 48 of the games he's been unavailable, only missing three contests. The 30-year-old lineman has totaled 122 tackles, 11 quarterback hits, nine pass breakups, five sacks, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries with the Broncos.
Last fall, Denver's front three consisted of Zach Allen , John Franklin-Myers and Jones with Malcolm Roach mixed in. All four players plus Eyioma Uwazurike are set to return in 2025.
