The Denver Broncos weren't done quite yet on Day 2 of the NFL draft, as they snuck back into the third round to select LSU defensive end Sai'vion Joneswith the 101st overall pick.
The Broncos sent the 111th overall pick (fourth round), 130th overall pick (fourth round) and 191st overall pick (sixth round) to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the 101st overall pick (Jones) and the 134th overall selection (fourth round).
Jones (6-5, 280 pounds) was another player who committed to one school for all four years of college. Jones was a three-year starter at LSU. Jones played in 51 total games, recorded 99 total tackles (38 solo, 61 assisted), 11.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and five pass breakups.
Jones started all 13 games in 2023 and 2024. In 2024, Jones had his best statistical year. He had 40 total tackles (19 solo, 21 assisted), 4.5 sacks, two pass deflections, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
At the 2025 NFL combine, Jones did not run the 40-yard dash, although he did a 4.74 at his LSU pro day. He had a 33-inch vertical at the combine, and had a 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump.
Jones adds to a very talented defense, which already boasts the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Pat Surtain, budding star Nik Bonitto and fellow draftee, Jahdae Barron . Broncos head coach Sean Payton is looking to make his defense even better against ever-improving offensive units across the NFL.
Draft Wire's Jeff Risdon had Jones as his 139th-best prospect on his 250-player big board.
The Broncos' next selection is the pick obtained from this trade, the 134th overall pick in the fourth round. See you tomorrow, Broncos Country!
