In a move that'll impact the Eagles in Week 1 and Week 10, the Green Bay Packers are acquiring pass rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys in a blockbuster trade.
According to Todd Archer, Adam Schefter, and Dan Graziano, several teams have spoken to the Cowboys about a potential trade for Micah Parsons. The report states that no trade is imminent, but another team could always be aggressive enough to make it happen quickly.
The Cowboys would like to resolve the situation, one way or another, in the coming days with their season opener next Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles . The Cowboys hold their first full practice in preparation for the Eagles on Friday.
When Parsons issued his trade request on Aug. 1, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the team would not trade him. Jones believes the Cowboys had an agreement with Parsons on a five-year extension that averaged $40.5 million per season, per league sources. The Cowboys have not made any offers since.
Since 2019, Ezekiel Elliott , Zack Martin , and CeeDee Lamb all staged holdouts, while Dak Prescott didn't sign his most recent contract extension until hours before kickoff of the season opener last September.
At only 26 years of age, Parsons has been voted to four Pro Bowls, is a three-time All-Pro, and the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year, having amassed 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and four fumble recoveries.
