Cabrera took over in the middle of last season when the Locomotive were the worst team in the league. While they marginally improved, they still finished last in the Western Conference.
This year the Locos finished 10-11-9 (11 draws, nine losses), fourth place in the Western Conference, as Cabrera compiled a record of 20-22-20 with Locomotive over 62 matches. That included a 1-0 loss to Phoenix in the first round of the USL playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 1.
His son Andy, in his first season with the club, was the team's leading goal scorer.
Per the news release, "Details regarding the club's next head coach will be announced at a later date."
