"BREAKING: The #Giants are releasing QB Tommy DeVito , multiple sources tell me," Jordan Schultz said in a post.
The Giants are ready to push forward with three QBs on the roster. Russell Wilson will begin the season as the starter, and he will have Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart behind him. Tommy DeVito's time in the Big Apple is up.
"Sources: The Giants are expected to carry Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart on their 53-man roster despite fielding trade calls," Dianna Russini said in a post.
DeVito has been with the Giants for the past two seasons after spending his college days at Illinois. He was primarily in a backup role with the team, but there were some times when New York needed him to start.

While DeVito did play well during preseason, it does still make sense for the Giants to make this decision. They already have a lot of good depth at the QB position with a couple of seasoned veterans and a talented rookie. DeVito has his strengths as well, but it was time for him to go.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the New York QB position as the season goes on. Russell Wilson is the starter right now, but we have seen him struggle during the last few years of his career. A lot of fans are hoping to see rookie Jaxson Dart eventually earn the job, and that wouldn't be surprising to see. This is a team desperate for success, so if things aren't going well, the Giants aren't going to hesitate to make a change.
Tommy DeVito had some good moments in New York and he became a fan favorite. His run with the Giants is now over , however.
