CLEVELAND — With the trade deadline rumor mill buzzing, the Guardians and Rockies meet July 30 to determine their three-game series at Progressive Field.
The Guardians dropped the series-opening game of the series in brutal fashion before rebounding July 29, led by Kyle Manzardo's first multi-homer game of the season.

Guardians beat the Rockies
This time, Cade Smith had a much smoother experience in the ninth inning, and the Guardians have blanked the Rockies, 5-0. The Guardians, who are off tomorrow, will enter the trade deadline at .500 (54-54).
On a less important note: when Smith has been entering games lately, they've played one guitar riff from the new Superman movie theme and then go on to another song. That slow Superman electric guitar-style riff should absolutely be his entire entrance music.

Guardians tack on 2 runs in the 8th
With two runners on, Kyle Manzardo came through with an RBI single and Carlos Santana followed with an RBI double to give the Guardians a 5-0 lead heading into the ninth inning.
Cade Smith is again coming in for the ninth inning.
Guardians blanking Rockies through 6 innings
The combination of Kolby Allard (3 1/3 innings), Matt Festa (two-thirds of an inning) and Jakob Junis (2 innings) have shut out the Rockies through six innings while allowing two hits combined.
The Guardians still lead 3-0.
Guardians extend lead over Rockies: score update
The Guardians loaded the bases in the bottom of the fourth inning and weren't able to do much, but a Brayan Rocchio sacrifice fly to right field made it 3-0 Cleveland.

Guardians, Rockies score: David Fry blasts 1st-inning home run
Facing Rockies starter Kyle Freeland in the first inning, Jose Ramirez nearly hit a home run to left field but instead settled for a double. One batter later, David Fry did get one over the 19-foot wall in left for a two-run home run and a 2-0 Guardians lead.
