CLEVELAND — The Guardians (15-11) are hosting the Boston Red Sox (15-14) on Sunday, April 27, at Progressive Field in the finale of a three-game series.
The Guardians are in second place in the AL Central Division behind the Detroit Tigers (17-10) .

The Red Sox are in second place in the AL East Division behind the New York Yankees (15-11).
The Guardians enter the day winners of six of their last eight games, which includes a doubleheader split with the Red Sox on Saturday, April 26 . The Guardians won the first game and the Red Sox won the second game . The teams were scheduled to play Friday, April 25 , but the game was postponed to Saturday afternoon because of inclement weather.
The Guardians recorded a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park, and defeated the New York Yankees on Monday, April 21, and Tuesday, April 22 and lost on Wednesday, April 23 . Cleveland beat New York 6-4 Monday and 3-2 Tuesday . New York avoided a three-game sweep with a 5-1 win Wednesday .
First pitch was at 1:40 p.m. today.

Ceddanne Rafaela hits a three-run home run off of Joey Cantillo to extend the Red Sox lead to 12-3 in the seventh inning. Romy Gonzalez reached base via an error to start the inning and Kristian Campbell walked and was forced out at second when Carlos Narvaez hit into a fielder's choice.
Cantillo made two wild pitches in the inning. He struck out Rafael Devers looking to end the inning

Nolan Jones hits a three-run home run off of Brayan Bello and the Guardians trim the Red Sox lead to 9-3 in the sixth inning. Angel Martinez led off the inning with a walk and José Ramírez singled to center field prior to Jones' first homer of the season.

Bello gets the next two batters out, allows a single to Daniel Schneemann and gets Will Wilson to strikeout to end the inning.

Red Sox increase lead to 8-0 over Guardians in fifth inning
The Red Sox scored five runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 8-0.

Rafael Devers and Alex Bregman started the inning with singles and Logan Allen walked Trevor Story to load the bases. Rob Refsnyder lifted a sacrifice fly that scored Devers.
Romy Gonzalez walked to reload the bases and Allen's day on the mound was over as manager Stephen Vogt called on Paul Sewald to pitch. Kristian Campbell greeted Sewald with a two-run single that scored Bregman and Story.
Campbell and Gonzalez then pulled off a double steal that brought in Gonzalez. Carlos Narvaez struck out and Campbell scored the final run in the inning when Ceddanne Rafaela hit a ground-rule double to right field. Nolan Jones appeared to lose the ball in the sun.

Red Sox starter Brayan Bello continues to pitch well and has kept the Guardians scoreless through four innings. Carlos Santana walked with one out and then Bello got Bo Naylor and Daniel Schneemann to ground out. Nolan Jones grouded out to start the inning.

Kristian Campbell led off the fourth inning with a double to left field, advanced to third base when Carlos Narvaez grounded out and scored when Ceddanne Rafaela lifted a sacrifice fly to center Angel Martinez.

Jarren Duran followed with a single, but was caught attempting to steal second base. Guardians catcher Bo Naylor made the throw and shortstop Brayan Rocchio caught the ball and applied the tag.
The Red Sox lead 3-0.

Bo Naylor led off the second with a double to right-center field and then was caught attempting to steal third base with the Guardians trailing 2-0. Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez made the throw and third baseman Alex Bregman caught the ball and applied the tag.
Daniel Schneemann struck out, Will Wilson hit an infield single and Brayan Rocchio lined out to first baseman Romy Gonzalez to end the inning.

Logan Allen walked Kristian Campbell and allowed a single to Carlos Narvaez to put runners on the corners with one out. Ceddanne Rafaela lifted a flyball to center field that Angel Martinez caught and then threw the ball a bit high towards cutoff man Carlos Santana, who was unable to make the catch. Campbell scored via the error.

Guardians starter Logan Allen worked around a leadoff single by Jarren Duran to retire Red Sox in the first inning. Durran advanced to second on a groundout and took third on a throwing error after a flyout, but Allen got Trevor Story to groundout to end the inning.
