The Habs recalled Joshua Roy to fill Dach's roster spot. He will join the team ahead of their game on Monday versus the Columbus Blue Jackets .
While I understand Martin St-Louis' reluctance to discuss the powerplay, it's a legitimate issue that has held his team back in recent games. Winnable games.
Prospect Jacob Fowler saved all 26 shots sent his way to secure a 2-0 shutout versus the Providence Bruins. It was his third shutout in just nine starts this season. With the win, the Laval Rocket are now first in the Atlantic Division.
He didn't receive much ice time, but it must be said that Jared Davidson understood the assignment while making his NHL debut on Saturday night.
ICYMI: There was (more) some unfortunate news on the health front, as both Kaiden Guhle and Alex Newhook will miss an extended stretch due to injuries that required surgical intervention. Newhook will miss four months with an ankle injury, while Guhle is expected to be out for eight to 10 weeks with an abductor injury. [ Canadiens Impact Of Guhle And Newhook Injuries ]

Bad news gets worse for the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. Jack Hughes is going to be out long-term. It leaves them with all but one choice moving forward. Per the Devils, "New Jersey Devils C Jack Hughes underwent successful surgery on his finger. The expected return to play timeline is eight weeks, and he will be re-evaluated at the six-week mark."[ New Jersey Devils ]
The San Jose Sharks are still hoping that Jeff Skinner 's injury isn't too serious. Skinner suffered a scary-looking lower-body injury early in a 2-0 loss to the Calgary Flames . He left the game and didn't come back. [ San Jose Sharks ]
