The post Jalen Ramsey breaks news of his own Steelers-Dolphins trade appeared first on ClutchPoints .
With all the trade buzz surrounding cornerback Jalen Ramsey , the Miami Dolphins have finally made the trade as the star is being dealt to the Pittsburgh Steelers , according to the player himself on X, formerly Twitter. While it seemed that the speculation around the Steelers and Ramsey was shot down , the result looks different as the team now prepares for the upcoming season.
The return for Ramsey is an interesting one, to say the least, as Pittsburgh dealt Minkah Fitzpatrick , as he will be returning to the team in Miami that drafted him 11th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, per Adam Schefter of ESPN. Moments after the news broke that Ramsey would be traded to the Steelers, details around the trade started to unfold, including that Dolphins tight end Jonnu Smith is also heading to Pittsburgh.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network laid out the full details:
"Dolphins have agreed to trade CB Jalen Ramsey , TE Jonnu Smith , and a 2027 7th-round pick to Pittsburgh in exchange for S Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 5th-round pick," Pelissero posted on X.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network would report that Ramsey's adjusted contract "includes a $1.5M raise in 2025, making his salary $26.6M this year." Besides Pittsburgh, Raporport would report that the Los Angeles Rams , Ramsey's former team, were a finalist .

While people were predicting which teams would land Ramsey , there was still some hope from fans and even players that he would stay with the Dolphins. One of them was star wide receiver Tyreek Hill , who said at Fanatics Fest that he would try to convince the cornerback to stay in Miami, though as Monday's events have transpired, it didn't work.

"I'm going to hang out with Ramsey next week," Hill said at Fanatics Fest on Sunday. "I'm going to hit him back, full-court press, I'm getting Ramsey back in a Dolphins jersey, I don't care what they say, tampering, whatever. We need Ramsey. He's a dawg, he's one of the best corners in the league, a great leader, and a great teammate too … We just need him on the Dolphins."
It's no doubt been a busy offseason for Pittsburgh thus far, as on top of signing quarterback Aaron Rodgers and acquiring wide receiver D.K. Metcalf, the team now adds Ramsey and Smith to reinforce each side of the ball.
