Florida A&M football has changed quarterbacks midgame for the second straight week.
In the second quarter against the Albany State Golden Rams , the Rattlers turned to transfer quarterback from Long Beach City College, Jett Peddy , to lead the offense, relieving starter RJ Johnson III .
And it paid immediate dividends for the Rattlers.
With FAMU trailing 14-3 in the second quarter, Peddy led the Rattlers to a 14-play, 67-yard drive that culminated with a four-yard rushing touchdown by Thad Frankin Jr. to make the score 14-10.
Peddy completed seven of eight passes for 49 yards during his opening drive. For the game, he has completed nine of 14 passes for 99 yards and an interception, which was tipped off the hands of a receiver.
Johnson completed three of four passes for 43 yards and led the Rattlers to a first-quarter field goal versus Albany State before being subbed out.
Johnson returned to the game in the third quarter and threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to receiver Kenari Wilcher to take a 17-14 lead for the Rattlers on the first second-half play from scrimmage.
