Former Pittsburgh Steelers defesnive lineman Larry Ogunjobi has been suspended six games for a failed PED test, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane told reporters on Friday.
The Steelers released Ogunjobi earlier this week in a move that will save the team $7 million in 2025 salary cap obligations.
He was then quickly signed to a one-year contract worth $8.3 million by the Buffalo Bills. Now, it he will likely only see two-thirds of that money.
It does not appear that the Steelers were aware of Ogunjobi's suspension before his release. Beane said that the Bills only found out about Ogunjobi's failed test this week, and not until after they had already agreed to terms on his new contract. That has caused a delay in the signing of Ogunjobi's deal, which has not yet happened. Beane said despite that, the Bills will stick with Ogunjobi.

Another player the Bills signed, defense lineman Michael Hoecht , also has a pending suspension from a failed PED test. Beane said the Bills were aware of that one, and would not have signed two players that are set to miss the first six games of the season.
The Steelers and Bills are scheduled to play against one another in the 2025 season , though the exact schedule has not been announced. The game will be in Pittsburgh, or it could be the home game the Steelers will be taking to Dublin, Ireland in September.
The Steelers have not yet signed a replacement for Ogunjobi, and could be targeted a deep class of defensive linemen in the 2025 NFL Draft, including potential first-round draft picks Kenneth Grant of Michigan, Walter Nolen of Ole Miss and Derrick Harmon of Oregon.
