After Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic 's 44 points led a 15-point comeback against the Memphis Grizzlies in Friday's 117-112 win, his funny back-and-forth with Austin Reaves went viral on social media. While talking to reporters in the Lakers' locker room, Reaves personally thanked Doncic for his 44-point performance in Friday's win, which didn't get the kind of response everyone was anticipating, per Spectrum Sports Network's X, formerly Twitter.
"Thank you for doing your job today," Reaves said, to which Doncic replied, "You're stupid."
The playful banter between the two went viral on social media, and it didn't end with Reaves' media availability. The ribbing carried into Doncic's media availability shortly afterward, as Luka's 44 points on 14-of-27 shooting, including 6-for-15 from deep, 12 rebounds, and six assists, helped erase a 15-point deficit in the second half, where Los Angeles outscored its opponent by 19 points (62-43) en route to a five-point victory against the Grizzlies.

Reaves, who scored a career-high 51 points in a 127-120 win against the Kings on Sunday, followed it up with a 41-point game on the second night of a back-to-back on Monday.

"That's gonna be tough, but like I said, sometimes they're gonna doubt me more. Sometimes I won't be able to score that much. And obviously I had some pretty, I think three, four shots that was crazy shots that I felt like doing, but they were terrible shots. So I gotta, like I said before, I gotta work on that, but that's tough, I don't know," he said.
When the interviewer mentioned, "Austin said you could," Doncic smiled and shot back: "Austin's stupid."
Through three games, Doncic is averaging 45.3 points on 58.4% shooting, including 35.1% from deep, 11.7 rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 0.7 steals per game.
