INDIANAPOLIS — The day many have been waiting for has arrived at the NFL combine.
The quarterbacks, always the showcase position group, will take their turn at answering questions. That means players like Miami 's Cam Ward , Colorado's Shedeur Sanders , Ole Miss ' Jaxson Dart and Alabama's Jalen Milroe .
Meanwhile, local products Harold Fannin Jr. from Canton McKinley High School and Bowling Green State University and Wadsworth native and Notre Dame product Mitchell Evans will before all of the executives and coaches at Lucas Oil Stadium. They will be joined by the rest of the tight end, as well as the defensive backs, including Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter.

Matt Campbell has another believer in Iowa State WR Jayden Higgins
Matt Campbell has been involved with one of the more impressive college football turnarounds since becoming Iowa State's head coach in 2016. He's gone 64-51 in that time, capped by this season's 11-3 record, the best he's posted since he arrived at Ames.
Campbell has also done plenty to help players get to the NFL. Three Cyclones are in Indianapolis, including wide receiver Jayden Higgins.
"Coach Campbell, he's awesome," Higgins said. "That team there, that organization, it's all about being together, being a team, and that's why I wanted to go there. I wanted to be a part of the brotherhood and it was great."
Texas WR Isaiah Bond looking to smoke the 40-yard dash
Texas has produced plenty of fast wide receivers. A year ago, the Longhorns had Xavier Worthy at the combine, where he ran a 4.21-second 40-yard dash, part of what attracted him to the Kansas City Chiefs .
Isaiah Bond is one of the latest Texas wide receivers who has arrived at Indianapolis with big goals. He has Texas-sized goals when it comes to his 40-yard time on Saturday.
"I'm going to break the record tomorrow, for sure," Bond said. "I anticipate running 4.20, or possibly if I'm feeling great, I might run 4.1."
Tennessee RB Dylan Sampson says hamstring injury wasn't vs. Ohio State
Dylan Sampson was a workhorse for the Tennessee football team last fall. The running back rushed for 1,491 yards on 258 carries, helping the Volunteers make the college football playoffs.
Then, in the opening round at Ohio State, Sampson had just six yards on only two carries. The reason for the limited carries was a hamstring injury, the nature of which he tried to set straight on Friday.
"A lot of people thought I got hurt in that game, but no, I was dealing with a hamstring injury from (the) Vandy (game) and it was lingering and I was trying to talk positive," Sampson said. "It was feeling good. The only thing I didn't have that week of practice was contact and I tried to go out and give my all for my team but it just wasn't going. I would have been a liability out there and I didn't want to get anybody else hurt or further injure myself."
Texas QB Quinn Ewers reports he's fully healthy after injury-plagued 2024
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is a polarizing figure in a polarizing class. The former No. 1 quarterback in his high school class, had a less than stellar final year with the Longhorns, even though he led them to the college football semifinal, where they lost to Ohio State.
Ewers, though, was battling through multiple injuries during the season. There was an oblique strain that he initially sustained in a Week 2 win at Michigan that ultimately forced him to miss two-plus games, then a high ankle sprain he suffered in late November against Kentucky.
"I think affected me for sure," Ewers said, "but kind of going back to my mental toughness and my resiliency, I think it was good for me kind of to go through stuff like that and see where I ended up toward the end of it all, when it does occur again, because it's a violent sport we play, I'll be ready and I'll have a way to attack it."
Ewers had 3,472 passing yards, 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his final year in Texas.
Miami QB Cam Ward joins Shedeur Sanders in not throwing at combine
The NFL teams already knew that Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders wasn't going to throw or work out at the combine. On Friday, Miami quarterback Cam Ward told reporters that he was also going to hold off throwing until the pro day next month.
Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart did confirm that his plan was to throw during Saturday's quarterback workouts.
