Earlier this season the Minnesota Twins promoted Travis Adams and didn't wind up using him in a game. His purpose was to provide length out of the bullpen. They opted to claim former first round pick Joey Wentz and use him in the role instead.
It didn't go well, and then it didn't go well some more. Wentz stuck around on the roster a lot longer than his numbers seemed to warrant.
Although the Twins don't have a ton of pitching options to make a swap in the bullpen, they finally pulled the plug.

Anthony Misiewicz headed to MN Twins
Joey Wentz appeared in his sixth game for the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night . He was the only Minnesota arm to allow a run, and fortunately it will be his last appearance as well. He has been designated for assignment.

The former Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher leaves the Twins having allowed 14 runs on 17 hits in just 8.0 innings. He walked nine batters while striking out six and gave up runs in five of his six appearances for Minnesota. With the intention of adding length to the bullpen, Wentz only made it through two innings twice. To say he was one of the worst pitchers in recent Twins memory would be accurate.
Anthony Misiewicz is headed over from St. Paul to replace Wentz. He has pitched in the big leagues for five different franchises over the course of five seasons. Last season he made a single appearance for the New York Yankees .

The Saints have used Misiewicz in 26 games this season and he has compiled 31 1/3 innings. He owns a 4.02 ERA with a 29/10 K/BB. Misiewicz sits around 94 mph on his fastball and combines it with both a cutter and a curveball. When he gets into a game, he will be the 24th pitcher used by the MN Twins this season.
It's worth noting that the Minnesota Twins went with Misiewicz, who was not on the 40-man roster, rather than Kody Funderburk . Funderburk has struggled in 13 innings with Minnesota (10 runs on 19 hits), but has a 1.61 ERA across 22 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season.
Rocco Baldelli keeps two lefties in his bullpen as Misiewicz joins Danny Coulombe . He should be expected to fill the same role as Wentz departs, which puts him at the bottom of the pecking order. With competent pitching, Misiewicz should earn a big league paycheck for a while.
