Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Eugenio Suarez has been prominent in MLB trade rumors this summer, with several clubs eyeing a deal for the All-Star hitter. Following an injury scare in the All-Star Game, it appears two clubs are the most prominent in talks on a deal.
According to ESPN 's Buster Olney, the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners are the two clubs known to be pursuing a trade for Suarez right now. While there reportedly might be a few other clubs involved, New York and Seattle appear to be at the forefront of talks with Arizona.

With Suarez playing on an expiring deal, the Diamondbacks are expected to move him this summer. The 34-year-old corner infielder is one of the most coveted MLB trade candidates this summer, in part because he's widely recognized as being a great addition to a clubhouse.
Suárez has publicly acknowledged the MLB trade rumors and specifically expressed his interest in returning to the Mariners or the Detroit Tigers , the club where he made his MLB debut in 2014. While his half-season rental status will cap Arizona's potential return, the number of interested teams could create a bidding war.

A two-time All-Star, Suárez has played exclusively third base and designated hitter over the past four seasons, with his only shortstop experience coming in 2021. He has never played first base during his major league career.
The expectation is that Suárez will be traded by the July 31 deadline, with the Yankees and Tigers now viewed as favorites to land him.
