Former Denver Broncos backup quarterback Zach Wilson has agreed to terms on a one-year, $6 million deal with the Miami Dolphins worth up to $10 million, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter .
Wilson, 25, originally entered the NFL as a No. 2 overall pick out of BYU with the New York Jets in 2021. He struggled in New York, going 12-21 as a starter and was eventually replaced by Aaron Rodgers .
The Jets traded Wilson and a seventh-round draft pick to the Broncos last spring in exchange for a sixth-round pick . Wilson ended up serving as Denver's third-string QB last fall behind starter Bo Nix and primary backup Jarrett Stidham .
Wilson was a healthy scratch in 2024 and did not appear in any regular season games with the Broncos. Before landing in Denver, he completed 57% of his passes for 6,293 yards with 23 touchdowns against 25 interceptions in three years (34 games) in New York.
Still a young QB, Wilson has upside and he will get a chance to serve as the primary backup in Miami after serving as QB3 with the Broncos last season. Denver, meanwhile, has re-signed Jarrett Stidham to serve as the team's No. 2 QB again in 2025.
