Now that the NFL draft has concluded, teams have a much clearer view of the league's landscape and can fairly judge their rosters. The New York Giants selected Abdul Carter with the No. 3 pick to pair with Brian Burns and the duo will likely play the majority of the defensive snaps.
This leaves an odd man out, meaning that former Oregon Ducks edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux could be moved in a trade soon. He is still just 25 years old and has displayed a ton of potential that should have suitors lining up to acquire him.
Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report released potential landing spots for 10 of the most logical trade candidates in the league. For Thibodeaux, Knox named the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers as the two most likely destinations.
A deal sending Thibodeaux to Carolina would be a full-circle moment for the Panthers , who traded Burns to the Giants , only to get the man usurped in the deal just a year later. But for a young team trying to ascend into contention, Thibodeaux would be a great, cheap alternative.
The Packers had one of the more dominant defensive lines in the NFL just a few seasons ago. After the departure of Za'Darius Smith and Rashan Gary 's regression last season, they could be in the market for reinforcements.
The former Ducks standout registered 11.5 sacks in 2023 before being limited to 12 games last season in an injury riddled year. If Green Bay manages to keep him healthy then it could end up being a worthy investment.
There has been no word on a potential trade with Thibodeaux yet, but if he comes available then those two teams would value his services.
