The Las Vegas Raiders entered Sunday's Week 4 date with the Chicago Bears hoping to get a breakout performance from rookie running back Ashton Jeanty . That's precisely what they received. Jeanty accounted for 155 total yards of offense and three touchdowns as a runner and pass catcher.
The Bears defense entered Week 4 allowing 5.5 yards per carry this campaign . It ranked second-worst in the NFL. Jeanty averaged 6.6 yards per carry, and backup RB Raheem Mostert averaged 15.5, rushing for 62 yards via four carries. That Bears mark is about to get even worse!
Jeanty's most explosive rush occurred during the second quarter. With the Raiders leading 7-6, Jeanty navigated traffic on a 1st-and-10 carry. The first-round selection in the 2025 NFL draft burst through a hole up the left side of the offensive line for a 64-yard touchdown.
Jeanty's first receiving touchdown featured a well-designed bootleg and misdirection. After Geno Smith faked the end-around to Tre Tucker , he hit a leaking Jeanty in the flat. He slipped a tackle for his first career receiving TD.
Jeanty's second of two receiving TDs also displayed his skill set. Jeanty caught a 2nd-and-goal pass from Smith at the 5-yard line, broke a tackle, and marched into the end zone.
Jeanty leads all running backs in rushing yards in Week 4 with 138. His 6.6 YPC average is second-best behind just fellow first-round rookie RB Omarion Hampton (10.7). Jeanty rushed for 47 yards over expected (RYOE), according to Next Gen Stats .
The Jeanty breakout has arrived.
