The Los Angeles Rams have re-signed former Georgia Bulldogs and Clemson Tigers cornerback Derion Kendrick . The Rams re-signed Kendrick just a few days after they waived him .
Kendrick spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with Los Angeles , but missed the 2024 NFL season after suffering a torn ACL in training camp. The 6-foot, 200-pound cornerback started 18 of 32 games during his first two seasons with the Rams.
If fully healthy, Kendrick is expected to compete for a starting role with the Rams or at least make Los Angeles' active roster for games. The Rams drafted Kendrick with a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft.
During Kendrick's last healthy season in 2023, he recorded 49 tackles, 10 pass deflections and one interception. Kendrick participated in organized team activities, but it is unclear if he is able to join the team in Maui, Hawaii, for minicamp from June 16-18.
Kendrick played the first three years of his college football career at Clemson before he transferred to Georgia for the 2021 season. He helped Georgia win a national championship and came up big for the Dawgs in the College Football Playoff.
The Rams have four former Georgia Bulldogs on their roster in Kendrick, quarterbacks Matthew Stafford and Stetson Bennett and offensive lineman Warren McClendon.
