PITTSBURGH STEELERS WEEK 12 INJURY REPORT
Two Pittsburgh Steelers upgraded the injury status of two of their players for Sunday's Week 12 game against the Bears, with both defensive tackle Cam Heyward and cornerback Darius Slay having their injury status removed for the game.
Heyward suffered an ankle injury during practice on Friday, and was seen in the Steelers locker room after practice wearing a walking boot. After being given veteran rest days on Wednesday and Thursday, Heyward was listed as a limited participant in practice and was given a questionable designation, but is now good to go.
Slay suffered a concussion during the Steelers' Week 10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers . He also missed last weeks' win over the Cincinnati Bengals . This week, he was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday and cleared the NFL concussion protocol, but was listed as limited in participation on Friday and given a questionable designation.
Two other Steelers players still have injury statuses for the game: outside linebacker Alex Highsmith (pec) is doubtful and quarterback Aaron Rodgers (fractured left wrist) is questionable.
Rodgers has been pushing to play on Sunday against the Bears, but Steelers doctors have been more cautious and guarded, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Schefter notes that if the decision is left to Rodgers, he will play, but the team has declined to provide hints as to its final decision.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Rodgers is hoping to take the decision up to game time. Doctors have been cautious, but Rodgers wants to go and believes he can protect himself.
The Steelers re-signed quarterback/wide receiver John Rhys Plumlee to their practice and have released safety Jack Henderson as a corresponding transaction. The Steelers brought back Plumlee to help prepare for Caleb Williams ' elusiveness.
The Steelers hosted three wide receivers for tryouts on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions page.
The Steelers hosted wide receivers Cole Burgess, Elijah Cooks and Cornell Powell at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex this week.
The tryouts came after rookie wide receiver and kick returner Ke'Shawn Williams landed in the concussion protocol after he was injured on the opening kickoff of the Steelers' Week 11 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. But Williams has since returned to action, practicing in full on Thursday.

THE LAST TIME

The Steelers beat the Bears, 29-27, on Nov. 8, 2021 in Pittsburgh. The game is most remembered for an unsportsmanlike conduct on Bears outside linebacker Cassius Marsh , who was a former Steeler.
Marsh was flagged for taunting the Steelers' sideline after a sack on Ben Roethlisberger , which led to the Steelers getting a first down and eventually a field goal in what became a two-point victory.
Marsh denied taunting the Steelers, his former club, but the NFL stood by the call from referee Tony Corrente.
"I think it was pretty clear to everybody to who saw it that I wasn't taunting," Marsh said .
Marsh was fined $5,972 by the league for taunting.

The Steelers are 8-19-1 all-time against the Bears. The Steelers have not fared well in Chicago. The Steelers have won just once in 13 meetings against the Bears in the Windy City. The lone win was 30 years ago in 1995.
Steelers legendary running back Jerome Bettis running over linebacker Brian Urlache r in the snow at Heinz Field in 2005 was the most memorable moment from the series.
