Aiden Williams, Shrine Bowl
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced on Saturday that they were signing offensive guard Aiden Williams from the University of Minnesota Duluth as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft concluded.
He wound up a college veteran of sorts, playing six seasons for the Bulldogs. He stands six-foot, five inches, weighing 314 pounds. He played as a tackle the last few seasons but was signed to the Steelers as a guard. In fact, he started his career as a tight end, which he played for three seasons, although he was redshirted as a freshman, and had his sophomore season cancelled by the Covid pandemic. After the 2021 season, he bulked up over 50 pounds and moved inward on the line of scrimmage.
He ran for an 11-yard touchdown in their 62-0 win over Southwest Minnesota State in September.
The Steelers got a look at Williams during the East-West Shrine Bowl in January, where a huge chunk of the brass saw him playing in Arlington, TX.
Currently, the Steelers have Mason McCormick , Isaac Seumalo and Spencer Anderson signed as guards.
The Anchorage, AL native was named a captain in his sixth year, in which he led the Bulldogs to a 7-4 record. The Bulldogs compete in NCAA Division II, where they won national championships in 2008 and 2010. According to Pro-Football Reference the school has had six players play in the NFL.
Williams is one of a few players Pittsburgh signed after the draft concluded Saturday. They also snagged Roc Taylor , a wide receiver from the University of Memphis.
