A two-time Super Bowl champion believes Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers should hang up his cleats.
The Los Angeles Chargers handed the Pittsburgh Steelers their third loss in the past four games on Sunday Night Football, and it was in large thanks to the struggling play of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The 41-year-old completed just 16 of his 31 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and it's the exact reason why two-time Super Bowl champion running back LeSean McCoy believes it's time for Rodgers to hang up his cleats for good.
"It's time," McCoy said on his "Speakeasy" podcast. "I've been saying the past couple of weeks, I love Aaron Rodgers and I don't want to say anything bad about him, but it is time to hang it up. He doesn't look comfortable. He doesn't look confident. He looks nervous in there. I get it, he's 41 years old, he doesn't want to get hit. It's time to let go."
Rodgers' play took a new low on Sunday night, but it has been trending that way during the team's recent slide.
After beginning the season with throwing for 1,270 yards, 14 touchdowns and five interceptions, he's thrown for just 583 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions over the past three weeks.

Some of that could be due to the sometimes up-and-down play by Steelers young offensive line, but McCoy thinks Rodgers isn't helping himself in the pocket, either.
"There's some times in the pocket where he could sit in there for an extra second just to get that guy open to throw it, and he doesn't want to stay in there. I think it's better for Aaron Rodgers , please let this be the last year," McCoy continued. "He's playing scared. The way he's playing, they can't win like that."
It was reported last month that Pittsburgh wanted to run it back with Rodgers in 2026. However, now that the team has all but lost its grip on the AFC North and continues trending in the wrong direction, it may want to see how things play out the rest of the way before committing to the four-time NFL MVP any longer.
Head coach Mike Tomlin seems confident in Rodgers and the Steelers offense's ability to turn things around, though.
"I'm not lacking confidence, I don't need a pat on the back. We stunk it up tonight. We'll be back," Tomlin said .
