- Where does Alabama football quarterback battle stand? What Ryan Williams said
With a full spring practice schedule under his belt, Alabama football wide receiver Ryan Williams is even more confident.
Williams sees a Crimson Tide roster that is bought in, that is all aboard "the Kalen DeBoer train" and one that knows what to expect from the second season in the new era for Alabama football.
In an interview with ESPN analyst Rece Davis on the "College GameDay" podcast, Williams shared that mentality carries over into the Alabama quarterback room , one that is still looking to define a starter with Jalen Milroe off to the NFL.
"The tape speaks for itself," Williams said. "We have three really good quarterbacks. And either way that it goes, I'm comfortable and confident in any of those guys, just because I've seen the work that they put in. They all have different tendencies. But, like you said, Ty (Simpson) is the frontrunner right now so just trying to build a relationship with not only him, but the rest of them, of course, and just get prepared for this season. We're super excited."
Ty Simpson has the most experience of any quarterback in Alabama 's room with three seasons under his belt and experience sitting behind both Milroe and Bryce Young .
Austin Mack , the former Washington transfer heading into his third season of college football, and five-star freshman Keelon Russell are also vying for snaps.
