Zach LaVine is officially listed as questionable due to illness, as per the NBA's official injury report, putting his status against the Lakers in doubt, with a final update likely not coming until right before the game. The Lakers might be a little short-handed themselves as Luka Doncic was listed on the injury report as questionable due to a finger injury.
Doncic has been off to a scorching start to the season for the Lakers, and LaVine has been as well for the Kings. During the King's season opener against the Phoenix Suns , LaVine finished with 30 points in 35 minutes on 13-of-24 (54.2 percent) shooting from the field. He followed that up by dropping 31 points in 37 minutes against the Jazz, while shooting 10-of-18 (55.6 percent) from the field, 4-of-9 (44.4 percent) from the three-point line and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line.
LaVine is coming off his first training camp and preseason with the Kings after they acquired him in a multi-trade involving the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs during last season's deadline.
Following the trade, LaVine appeared in 32 games for the Kings at a little over 36 minutes per game. He averaged 22.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists with splits of 51.1 percent shooting from the field, 44.6 percent shooting from the three-point line and 87.4 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
