As is the case every year, the BBWAA's Milwaukee chapter announced its team awards for the Milwaukee Brewers ' historic 2026 season.
Keep in mind, this is a regular-season award only, so anything that was done in the postseason does not factor into these five categories.
The categories are Most Valuable Player, Most Valuable Pitcher, Most Valuable Newcomer, Unsung Hero, and Good Guy Award.
A few of these nominations should come as no surprise, but the MVP and Unsung Hero award winners could definitely be up for discussion.
In the end, there was only one unanimous winner, and that's the guy who everyone expects to win the Cy Young Award : Jacob Misiorowski.
Misiorowski named Brewers Most Valuable Pitcher
There were quite a few great pitchers on this team, but none had the impact that Misiorowski did.
The 24-year-old finished the regular season with an astonishing 16-5 record. No player in baseball had a better ERA (1.80), WHIP (0.80), or more strikeouts (252).
For as good as Logan Henderson was, especially down the stretch, not even he had a chance of taking this award from Misiorowski.
Brice Turang brings home MVP
Brewers fans need to be reminded that these are the team awards, not the main MLB ones where Brice Turang is competing with Shohei Ohtani and Pete Crow-Armstrong.
Still, to see Turang win Team MVP over Jackson Chourio is a bit shocking, though Chourio did miss the first month of the season.
Even William Contreras had a case here, but in the end, Turang's defense and 100-RBI season couldn't be topped.
Cooper Pratt wasn't a unanimous winner
Surprisingly, Cooper Pratt wasn't a unanimous winner for his Most Valuable Newcomer award.
Luis Lara had a ton of contributions, so he likely got quite a bit of votes as well.
In the end, Pratt's postseason performance far outweighed what he did in the regular season, so that also needs to be taken into consideration.
Abner Uribe named Unsung Hero
All the way back in April, Trevor Megill was removed from his usual closer spot for Abner Uribe.
Uribe wasn't perfect throughout the regular season, but he had a sub-2.00 ERA, and his WHIP was barely over 1.00.
This award could've gone to quite a few different players, but Uribe was undoubtedly a big part of the bullpen, so it was still well deserved.
Christian Yelich rounds things out
The 2026 Good Guy Award went to none other than the first captain in franchise history.
Christian Yelich was able to stay healthy this season, and while he's never going to be the same player he was back in his MVP days, he still found ways to contribute and make his massive contract worth it despite no longer playing in the outfield.
